Twisted Roots of Evil details the authors journey from her abusive upbringing in the rural south to survival at the turn of the millennium. Six years later, she, too, was divorced, poor, uneducated, and lost. Although her life changed when she met her current husband, it was through the victimization of her father's second family that she ultimately found closure. With the help of Susan, her father was sentenced to life in prison for the abuse he committed against his second family.
